Baby’s Heartbeat

Isn’t it amazing what technology can do these days? My mom said she could hear our heartbeats only through a stethoscope, but I read in one of the million pregnancy books I have lying around, the heartbeat can’t be heard through a stethoscope until around the 20th week. I went in for my first appointment in my 9th week and for the first time I heard my baby’s heartbeat. I cherish these doctor’s appointments for a chance to hear my baby. It’s such a relief to know the baby is alive and things are going well. mplaceaudacitywaveform.jpg

I am now in my 21st week and am feeling pretty good even though it is becoming harder and harder to bend. I am just starting to feel little movements in my womb. Life is a miracle and the way God creates it is enough to make any pregnant woman weep.

The new life Jeremy and I are about to embark upon has made an impression on Jeremy. He will leave the house in the morning and go to work saying goodbye to me and our baby. Some mornings I can’t get out of bed at the early hour he has to leave and have our ritual morning breakfast together. The other morning I was too tired to get out of bed so Jeremy left a note. He started by greeting me and the baby. I was truly touched.

I love being able to hear the baby’s heartbeat. Are you guys going to have another ultrasound to try to find whether it is a girl or boy?

That is awesome. Its amazing what technology allows us to do sometimes.
